April 2008 Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals (SICP) News
SICP Chapter News
The Keystone Chapter of the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals held its most recent meeting at the Bent Creek Country Club in Lancaster, PA. Fifty-four health care professionals, consisting of cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, registered cardiovascular invasive specialists, perfusionists, surgical technologists and surgical nurses, cardiovascular technology students and industry representatives were in attendance for a very informative presentation by Dr. Wilson Szeto, a cardiothoracic surgeon from Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Szeto spoke on “Transcatheter Valvular Therapy for Aortic Stenosis,” with updates on the current status of the different clinical trials here in the U.S. and in Europe.
Many thanks to our industry sponsors, Possis Medical, makers of AngioJet, and Cardiva Medical, the makers of the Boomerang closure system. The Keystone Chapter is currently exploring additional topics and will likely plan a early fall dinner lecture.
